Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first person in history to score a 10 for competing in the Olympics. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci would go on to become Romania's gymnastics coach. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she won the title of champion. The first time she competed in an international competition in an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In her very first competition at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first woman to complete a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows were ice skating performances that were followed by musical performances.
