Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on 8 August 1976. She was oldest child of four. From a very young age, her dentist doctor parents as well as her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theater and drama. This passion which trumped her original desire to be an animal scientist. The actress became famous as a child actor quickly and achieved huge success. After completing her studies, she was able to participate in Jeunes Premiers which is a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. Alongside her acting career she was also interested in modeling. The model was for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". Alongside her acting career she is also interested in photography. She recently exhibited some of her photographs during the Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrity, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her rise to fame in the film Amelie. Additionally, there are a number of photographs featuring her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie is a box office hit internationally and recognized at many awards events around the globe. It remains the highest grossing French language film to be released in the US. The following year, she starred in British dramas including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
