Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) was an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that brought you Hamilton. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than a century. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in CBS's hit series B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. Additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been born in Denver is now based in Los Angeles and New York.
